Supporting Teacher Well-Being With Brightspace
views
Teaching is a challenging job. When we hear about social emotional learning—or SEL—it’s often about students and their well-being, which is of course a priority of education. We need to include teachers in this discussion too. Teachers play an essential role in the student experience, but they can’t pour from an empty cup. In fact, 64% of teachers do not feel prepared to handle students’ social and emotional needs. They need the right skills and mindset to effectively embody and model SEL in their classrooms.
When teachers practice SEL themselves, it can help create a culture of well-being and, in turn, reduce burnout and improve retention. Here are some ways to foster this culture at your school with D2L Brightspace.
